Welcoming the New Year.

This year we spent about a week camping up at Lucky Bay with lovely long time friends.  Such a peaceful, open, rejuvenating and happy place.

This spot on the point is locally known as 'Cork'n'all Beach'.  There's a gorgeous little spa bath on the left hand side of where we're parked and on the right hand side is the surf.  Suits all tastes so it's a fave spot.

The story goes that Cork'n'all got its name because the girls were down there one evening trying to open a bottle of wine without a corkscrew - and you guessed it, ended up drinking the wine cork and all!

Our little oasis away from the hustle and bustle.

To protect the environment we're required to be fully self contained, bringing water and everything else we need......

Very flash.

Life up the beach is slow and happy, with days full of swimming, laughter, 'happy-hours' and fun.

Each year there's a New Year's Day cricket match between the Crays (adults) and the Cackers (kids). If the Crays win one year, the Cackers seem to win the next and visa-versa the following year......very suspicious.

.........and the game in full progress.

I don't actually play cricket.  I just sit in the shade (and partake of a refreshing cool beverage or two!)

Look at that beautiful water.  What a way to welcome in the New Year huh?
